INSPECTION








Using Scan tool

Function: Data Reading.
Item Number: 18.
Data Display: Switch state.
Check Conditions: Ignition Switch ON.
- Ignition Switch in STOP position should read OFF.
- Ignition Switch in CRANK position should read ON.

Harness Inspection Procedure





1. Measure the input voltage to the ECM.
- ECM connector disconnected.
- Ignition Switch START position.
- Voltage should read 8 volts or more.

If OK - go to step 2.
If not OK - Repair the harness (C50-5 11 - Ignition switch).





2. Check for continuity of the ground circuit.
- ECM connector disconnected.

If OK - END.
If not OK - Repair the harness (C50-5 13 - Ground).
