1. Remove relay from engine compartment relay box, Fig. 28.

2. Check for continuity between terminals with battery (+) and (-) applied intermittently to terminals 1 and 3 respectively, Fig. 30.
3. When battery voltage is applied, continuity should exist between terminals 1 and 3 and between terminals 4 and 5; when voltage is removed, continuity should exist only between terminals 1 and 3.
4. If results are as indicated, relay is satisfactory; if not, a new relay should be installed.
