Procedure F: Window Regulator To Door Adjustment
1. With the window rolled down 6 inches, loosen the four bolts holding the window regulator to the door. Move the window straight back (not down), making sure it remains seated in the rear runchannel. Retighten the four window regulator bolts 2-4 N-m (1.5-3 ft.lbs.).
2. Retest the window operation. If the window operates normally, reinstall the door panel trim and return the vehicle to the customer. (Refer to the NOTE under Procedure A.) If the window is still difficult to operate, go to Step 3.
3. Remove the two lower bolts holding the window regulator to the door.
4. Reinstall the two lower regulator bolts with a 1.6 mm thick washer on each bolt. The washer must be placed between the regulator and the door. Torque the lower regulator bolts 2-4 N-m (1.5-3.0 ft.lbs.).
5. Retest the window operation, reinstall the door panel trim, and return the vehicle to the customer. (Refer to the NOTE under Procedure A.)
This is the extent of adjustment procedures that can be performed to reduce door window binding or misalignment. Most conditions affecting normal door window operation will be reduced or eliminated by following the procedures described in this bulletin.
