F4AC1 TRANSAXLE CLICKING NOISE
PURPOSE
This bulletin provides information for diagnosing and correcting a clicking sound that comes from the left front of the vehicle.
VEHICLES AFFECTED
1995 Eclipses with F4AC1 automatic transmission built between November 1 and 17, 1994 may be affected.
Identification numbers of the affected transmissions are XXX-2149-XXX through XXX-2165-XXX. The identification label is on top of the transmission case.
SYMPTOMS/CONDITIONS
A clicking noise comes from the left front of the vehicle. It varies with car speed, with the clicks becoming faster as the vehicle speeds up. It may be caused by the output gear bolt and stopper plate contacting the rear cover of the transaxle.
