Replace transaxle shift cables in numbered sequences shown in Fig. 21 through 23, noting the following when installing:

1. Install shift lever assembly bushings with the side marked UP facing upward.
2. Install select cable as follows:
a. Install select cable on the transaxle end.
b. Place transaxle in Neutral position.
c. Place gear selector in Neutral position.

d. Adjust length of select cable then install cable onto gear selector assembly as shown, Fig. 24.
3. Install shift cable as follows:
a. Install shift cable on the transaxle end.

b. Keeping select lever on transaxle in the Neutral position, move shift lever on transaxle into 4th gear as shown, Fig. 25.

c. Position gear selector lever into the 4th gear position, Fig. 26, and adjust length of shift cable and install cable onto the gear selector lever as shown.
4. Ensure transaxle controls function properly.
