Fig. 11 Exploded View Of Front Driveshaft:

Refer to Fig. 11 when disassembling the front driveshafts, noting the following:

1. Remove inner driveshaft using bearing remover tool Nos. MB991248 and MD998801, or equivalents.
2. Remove center bearing using bearing remover tool No. MB990938-01, or equivalent.
3. Reverse procedure to assemble, noting the following:
a. Install center bearing using bearing installation tool No. MB990938-01, or equivalent.
b. Apply grease to all dust seals.
c. Install dust seals using seal installation tool No. MB990938-01, or equivalent.
d. Assemble TJ case and inner shaft using shaft installation tool No. MB991248, or equivalent.
e. When installing joint boots, ensure distance between clamps is 3.35 inches.
