Fig. 18 Exhaust Manifold Removal:

Remove exhaust manifold in numbered sequence, referring to Fig. 18, noting the following:
1. Drain engine oil and coolant prior to removing exhaust manifold. To drain coolant, proceed as follows:
a. Place instrument panel temperature control lever in Hot position.
b. Carefully remove radiator cap.
c. Remove radiator drain plug.
2. Use oxygen sensor socket No.MD998703, or equivalent, to remove oxygen sensor.
3. Leave power steering hoses attached when disconnecting power steering pump. Position pump out of the way and secure with a piece of wire.
4. Reverse procedure to install. Apply machine oil to inner surface pipe flare prior to installing water pipe (18), Fig. 18.
