1. Remove relay from relay box at right-hand side of engine compartment, Fig. 24.

2. Check for continuity between terminals with battery (+) and (-) applied intermittently to terminals 2 and 4 respectively, Fig. 26.
3. When battery voltage is applied, continuity should exist between terminals 1 and 3 but should not exist when voltage is removed. Continuity should also exist between terminals 2 and 4 when voltage is removed.
4. If results are as indicated, relay is satisfactory; if not, a new relay should be installed.
