Brake Master Cylinder: Testing and Inspection

Examine reservoirs for foreign matter and check all passages for restrictions. If there is any indication of contamination or evidence of corrosion, service the hydraulic system as needed, then flush the entire system.
When disassembled, wash all parts in denatured alcohol or clean brake fluid. Use an air hose to blow out all passages, orifices and valve holes. Air dry and place parts on clean paper or lint-free cloth.
1. Check components for wear, damage, or corrosion. Replace as needed.
2. Check master cylinder bore for scoring, rust or pitting. Replace as necessary.
