Wastegate Solenoid Valve

Wastegate Solenoid Valve, Location:

The wastegate solenoid is spring loaded closed when not energized, after start-up the ECU fully grounds the circuit. It is only controlled by the ECU during failure mode.

SOLENOID TEST
1. Mark and disconnect the vacuum hose (black with red stripe) from the solenoid valve.
2. Disconnect the electrical harness connector.
3. Connect a manual vacuum pump to the fitting the red striped hose was removed from.

Solenoid Operational Test:

4. Apply a vacuum while Voltage is applied to the solenoid valve. Verify that the valve does not hold vacuum.
5. Remove power from the solenoid valve and verify that the solenoid valve holds vacuum.

Solenoid Resistance Check:

6. Measure the resistance between the two terminals of the solenoid valve.

36 - 46 Ohm @68~F (20~C)
