Removal and Replacement

Fig. 1 Replacing Transfer Case Assembly:

Remove transfer case assembly in numbered sequence, Fig. 1. noting the following:
1. Move the transfer case to the left and lower the front side, then remove it from the propeller shaft.
2. Suspend the propeller shaft so that it can not be sharply bent.
3. Cover the transfer opening with tool No. MB991193 or equivalent to prevent transaxle oil discharge and the entry of foreign objects.
4. Reverse procedure to install.
