INPUT SHAFT CHANGE

PURPOSE

The input shaft of the W5M33 manual transmission used in early 1990 and 1991 Eclipse AWD models has a bearing spacer that was not shown in the 1990 Service Manual.

Also, later versions of this transmission use an oil seal that is not shown in the 1991 Service Manual.

As information to technicians overhauling W5M33 transmissions, this bulletin shows the locations of the bearing spacer and oil seal. Please refer readers to this bulletin by writing the TSB number in the revision boxes on the affected pages.

DESCRIPTION

Early input shafts use a bearing spacer but do not have an oil seal, as shown in Figure 1.
