Power Steering Pressure Switch: Description and Operation

Power Steering Load Switch Circuit:

The P/S load switch, located on the P/S pump, is used to provide a signal to the ECU when there is steering load. The ECU uses this information for idle speed control. When pump output pressure exceeds a preset level, the switch closes, completing the circuit to ground.
