OPERATION

The contact type switch detects the power steering load. If the power steering oil pump increases the pressure as the steering system is operated, the power steering oil pressure switch inputs the ON signal to ECU. According to this signal, ECU prevents the engine speed from being reduced by the power steering load in order to achieve stable idling.


TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS

The power steering oil pressure switch can be checked by observing whether the idle-up control is activated or not when the steering wheel is turned.
