Air Cleaner Housing: Description and Operation

Air Cleaner And Components:

The air cleaner is of the remote canister type. The canister's main body is attached to the vehicles right fenderwell, while the lid is attached to the turbocharger inlet via a flexible hose coupling. The function of the air cleaner is to keep harmful dirt and debris from entering the engine. The air cleaner also houses (attached to the lid) the air flow meter, barometric pressure sensor and the intake air temperature.
All of the components contained in the air cleaner are ECU sensors, so for any further description, or testing of these components refer to COMPUTERIZED ENGINE CONTROLS.
