SUBJECT:

DOOR WEATHERSTRIP WIND NOISE


PURPOSE

Some 1991 Eclipse vehicles may develop a wind noise near the door area. This condition may be caused by a loose door weatherstrip. If you find that the weatherstrip is loose, please cement it in place using the procedures in this bulletin.

Standard warranty procedures and coverage apply.

MATERIALS NEEDED

3M Weatherstrip adhesive (black), # 8011 or equivalent.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Carefully loosen the upper portion of the affected door's weatherstrip (Figure 1).

2. As shown in figure 2, apply a narrow bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the door frame.

3. Press the weatherstrip into place in the door channel (Figure 3). Make certain the weatherstrip is fully seated within the door channel before closing the door (Figure 4).
