OPERATION

The light emitting diode and photo diode detect the top dead point of the compression stroke, and according to this signal, ECU controls the fuel injection.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS

In case of a broken wire or short-circuit in the TDC sensor circuit or an improper contact in the connector, it may result in improper starting, unstable idling, improper continuous idling, etc.. However, wire breakage during engine running does not appear as a trouble phenomenon.
