OPERATION
The crank angle of each cylinder is detected by the light emitting diode and photo diode, and according to the signals sent from the diodes, ECU calculates the engine revolution speed and intake air amount per stroke, and also calculates the ignition advance angle. Then, ECU sends the primary current shutdown signal to the power transistor unit.
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
If the circuit is shorted or a wire is broken in the crank angle sensor circuit, the engine will stop and not restart.
