General System Description

ECU System:

The computerized engine control system is designed to reduce emission levels and increase fuel economy to standards set by government agencies, while at the same time maximizing engine output. The ECU consists of an 8-bit microprocessor, random access memory (RAM), read only memory (ROM) and Input/Output (I/0) interface. The ECU actively controls the operation of the Fuel Injection system, the Ignition timing, and has full control of the Idle Speed Control system. The system is also able to store and retrieve malfunction information through it's self-diagnostic functions.
