PURPOSE

A heat shield has been added to the front engine support rod of 1987 Precis vehicles to protect the upper roll insulator from exhaust heat (Figure 1). In conjunction with the added heat shield, the front engine support bracket has been modified as shown in Figure 2. As reference to this bulletin, please attach the red-lettered sticker to page 200-17 of the 1987 Precis Service Manual.
EFFECTIVE PRODUCTION DATES

The new heat shield and front engine support bracket were added to production vehicles beginning with the following dates:
Automatic Transaxle - From April 16, 1987 Manual Transaxle - From April 18, 1987

Interchangeability

Yes, the new heat shield, engine support bracket and bolt replace the old engine support bracket only.
