Repair Procedures
1. Open the hood and install fender covers on both fenders.2. Look for a vacuum regulator valve on the bracket on the bulkhead at the rear of the engine compartment. If equipped with a vacuum regulator valve go to step
3. If not read the note below.
NOTE: For any vehicle without the vacuum regulator valve follow repair procedures described in EMR-90-006.
3. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Disconnect vacuum hoses as needed.
4. Spray carburetor cleaner into the choke linkage and around the secondary main air jet.

5. Using a Digital Volt Ohm Meter check the voltage between the Oxygen Sensor body and the hood latch bolt. Place the positive lead on the bolt and the negative lead on the sensor body. If the voltage is ABOVE 130 mV, continue to the next step. If the voltage is LESS than 130 mV, go to step 7.
6. Install one end of the new ground wire on the intake manifold and the other end on the vacuum regulator valve mounting clip lower bolt.
7. Reconnect vacuum hoses, and reinstall the air cleaner assembly.
8. Place a punch mark over the 1st digit of the serial number on the bulkhead identification plate. This will show that the campaign procedures have been completed.
