Purpose

The front brake system of 1987 Precis vehicles equipped with an automatic transaxle has been changed from a solid disc (rotor) type to a ventilated disc type (Figure 1) for improved brake cooling. In addition to the new type brake disc, the caliper assembly, brake pads, dust cover, knuckle, proportioning valve and hydraulic lines have also been changed. The new brake system is installed on all Precis vehicles beginning with March 1987 production.
