AFFECTED VEHICLES
This Service Action involves R55, R56, R57, R58 and R59 JCW vehicles which were produced from November 2012 to December 2012.
In order to determine whether a specific vehicle has had this Service Action completed or is affected by this Service Action, first check the B-pillar label for code number 58. If code number 58 has been punched out, the campaign has already been performed. If code number 58 has not been punched out, it will be necessary to utilize the "Service Menu" of DCSnet (Dealer Communication System) or the Key Reader. Based on the response of the system, either proceed with the corrective action or take no further action.
CORRECTION
The repair consists of:
^ Transferring the steering wheel control buttons from the vehicle to the new sport steering wheel
^ Installing the gearshift paddles with a new harness
^ Installing wiring harnesses from the SZL module to the EGS module
Submit a PuMA case entitled "MY2013 JCW Missing Paddle Shifter."
A new leather sport steering wheel and shifter harness kit will automatically be released as a VOR order by the PCG group for the dealer, specific to the VIN in the PuMA case. The remaining parts need to be ordered by the Center.
Follow the attached workshop procedures to carefully fit the two harnesses and assemble the new steering wheel for installation.

LABEL INSTRUCTIONS
If the vehicle already has a label from a previous Service Action/Recall Campaign, affix the new label next to the old one. Do not affix one label on top of another one because a number from an underlying label could appear in the punched-out hole of the new label.
