Carpet: Service and Repair

51 47 314 - Removing and installing/replacing carpet for passenger compartment





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove both front seats Removing and Installing Left or Right Front Seat (Normal / Manual)
- Remove airbag control unit Service and Repair
- Remove rear storage compartment holder Removing and Installing / Replacing Rear Storage Compartment Holder
- Remove both inner entrance cover strips 51 47 000 Removing and Installing/Replacing Front Left or Right Entrance Cover Strip
- Remove rear seat Removing and Installing or Replacing Rear Seat
- Remove lower trim from instrument panel
- Remove accelerator pedal module Service and Repair
R55 only:
- Remove cover on left entrance 51 47 ... Removing and Installing/Replacing Cover on Inside Left Entrance
- Release bottom right side trim panel 51 47 000 Removing and Installing/Replacing Front Left or Right Entrance Cover Strip





R55 with shelf package only:
Remove lashing eyes on left/right:
- Release screw (1).
- Tightening torque 51 71 9AZ Specifications
- Remove cover (2)
- Turn lashing eye (3) through 90° and feed out





Version with TV/telephone:
Release screws (1) and remove cover (2).





Release screws (1) and remove cover (2).





Release trim (1) from retainers (2) and remove towards inside.





Release screw (1) and remove trim (2).





Release screws (1 and 2).
Take off holder (3).





Remove carpet (1) first at rear towards top.
Pull back carpet (1) at front under heater (2).

Note:
A cut (3) is already provided in carpet (1).
Pay attention to cable when removing carpet (1).
If necessary, cut carpet (1) to feed out cable.

Installation:
Make sure openings for air duct and attachment points are correctly positioned.
