Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
Sensor supply voltage 4.8 .. 5.2 V
engine speed > 400 rpm
Terminal condition: Terminal 15
Voltage condition:
DME operating range

Action in service
1. Check wiring at plug
2. Check plug-in contacts (intermittent open)
3. Inspect the sensor's installation (excessive/inadequate gap
relative to the reluctor ring, loose bolt)
4. Check reluctor ring for contamination and damage (bent
teeth)
5. Replace sensor

Fault effect and breakdown warning
Engine stalls, or continued vehicle operation is possible
although passing maneuvers should be avoided owing to the
reduced power.

A terminal status switch must be conducted before this fault
