Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
VANOS adaptation finished -> Overrun phase, engine speed
> 2000 for 4 sec.
Terminal condition: Terminal 15
Voltage condition:
none

Condition for fault memory entry
none

Action in service
1. Check valve timing (vsa_sprs zu vsa_spri)
2. Check chain length/tension
3. Perform system test with tester
4. Check reluctor position
5. Inspect VANOS valve for contamination
Mutual position switch of camshaft solenoid valves
If this is successful: Replace exhaust-side solenoid valve
6. No improvement after 5.: Switch positions of VANOS
units. If this is successful: Replace exhaust-side VANOS
unit
