Fault description
Alternator: Incorrect type

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
The error is recognized when code of the alternator does not
agree with the code stored in the DME.
Terminal condition: Terminal 15
Voltage condition:
Alternator specified voltage for min. 5 sec.: high electrical
system voltage +1.0 V or greater than 14 V

Condition for fault memory entry
25.5 sec.

Action in service
- If the fault frequency is greater than or equal to 3, clear the
control module fault memory and do not take any further
action
- If the fault frequency is > 3, then replace the alternator

None
Mild roughness at idle can occur
