Fault description
Valvetronic servo-motor, sluggish movement

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
Terminal 15, engine should not be running
Terminal condition: Terminal 15
Voltage condition:
Voltage in onboard electrical system > 9 V

Condition for fault memory entry
0.5 sec.

Action in service
1. If errors related to the DME main relay are present, repair
these first
2. If other Valvetronic errors are present these are collateral
errors
3. Check Valvetronic servo-motor connection wires (CMI-
201(O_P_VVT1M) and/or CMI-202(O_P_VVT2M)) for
open circuit/wire and mutual short circuits
4. Relearn travel stops, if not OK, replace Valvetronic servo-
motor and repeat 'Learn travel limits'
5. If replacement of the Valvetronic servo-motor fails to
produce a successful resolution, remove the valve cover and
check the Valvetronic mechanism for signs of stiction
6. Replace the DME
