Fault description
Ignition coil, cylinder 2, ignition-circuit monitoring

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
Engine running (not in limp-home mode)
Terminal condition: none
Voltage condition:
Battery voltage > 11 V

Condition for fault memory entry
25S

Action in service
1. Spark plug: Visual inspection (cracks in the ceramic
insulation, black electrodes, electrode gap, etc.). If visible
damage is present: replace.
2. Check ignition coil for corrosion and cracking, exchange
with the coil on another cylinder and check to determine
whether the DTC in the error memory migrates with the coil
3. Check the wiring harness between the ignition coil and
DME
4. Replace the DME if the DTC remains logged
continuously

Fault effect and breakdown warning
Continued driving possible if only the one cylinder is
affected. The ignition miss detection should recognize the
affected cylinder and deactivate the injection to protect the
catalytic converter.
