Fault description
Oil pump, mechanical

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
> The error is recognized when the oil pressure rises above a
threshold stored in the program map (relative to engine
speed and oil temperature).
> The error is recognized when operation with closed-loop
control is suspended more than 5 times within one driving
cycle with subsequent component diagnosis owing to
excessive oil pressure
Terminal condition: Terminal 15
Voltage condition:
Voltage in onboard electrical system >10V

Condition for fault memory entry
2 error paths:
1. 10 sec.
2. Error must occur 5 consecutive times in accordance with
debounce frequency.
Otherwise the debounce counter is reset and the debounce
process starts again at the beginning.

Action in service
1. Check the oil to confirm that an officially-approved oil
has been used. If the incorrect oil has been used the response
is limited to performing an oil change and carrying out a
road test.
2. If the problem reappears replace the oil-pressure control
valve + oil change
3. If the problem still continues to appear replace the entire
pump assembly (pump + valve)
