SUBJECT
Noises from the Closed Convertible Top

MODEL
R57 (Cooper and Cooper S Convertible)

SITUATION

When driving over rough surfaces with the convertible top in the closed position, a grating or squeaking noise can be heard from the area of the convertible top seals. If the convertible top is opened, or if the windows are lowered slightly, the noise is no longer present.

CAUSE

A slip-stick effect between the glass and the mating seals.

CORRECTION

Isolate or treat the affected seals.
