51 71 426 Removing And Installing/Replacing Panel For Cover On Left Or Right Side Member







Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove trim on panel for cover on side member







Applicable to R57 only:
Release screw connection (2) on outer strut (1) of cross reinforcement.
Tightening torque 51 71 2AZ.







Release clamps (1).

Installation note:
If necessary, replace faulty clips (1).







Release screw (1) and threaded blind rivets (2).







R55 right side only:
Lever out trim (1) with a suitable tool.
Release clamps (2).

Installation note:
If necessary, replace faulty clips (2).







Release panel (1) at clips (2) and remove.







Installation note:
If necessary, replace faulty clamps (1 and 2).







Replacement (R57 only):
Subsequently cut out aperture (1) and bore (3) for outer strut of cross reinforcement at trim panel (2).
