Body Equipment

MODEL
R55 Cooper Clubman and Clubman S

INFORMATION

When the customer opens the split-doors, the right-side door does not open fully under the pressure from the gas strut. The door only pops off the latch when released. The left-side split-door, on the other hand, will open fully when the latch is released. This is normal operation and is intended to prevent damage from the right-side door.

When the right-side split-door latch is released via the key fob or interior trunk release button, the door must stay within the line of the bumper to avoid opening into an object.

The left-side split-door, on the other hand, will open fully when released from the latch, as it can only be opened after the right-side door is already open and cannot be opened remotely.

This is normal operation and does not represent a fault with any parts. As such, no parts should be replaced for this.
