Various Noises from the Convertible Top
MODEL
R57 (Cooper and Cooper S Convertible) from start of production
SITUATION
Noises may occur from the convertible top when fully opened or fully closed.
CAUSE
The noises are being generated by the convertible top frame due to improper settings, or by the convertible top and window seals creating a "stick-slip effect".
INFORMATION
The problem has been integrated into ISTA diagnostics. Follow the diagnosis test plan using the latest ISTA version. In "Information Search", select the "Function Structure" tab. Select "Body, Mechanism Noises, Noises, Noise from soft top", and then press "Start Search".
Select test plan "AT5434_R57MECH Noises from soft top".
CORRECTION
Refer to ISTA diagnosis for the required repair procedure.
