32 00 620 - Adjusting rear axle
Special tools required:
- 32 4 200 32 4 200 Setting Tool
Note:
A camber change always means a toe change as well. The camber must therefore be adjusted first.
If wheel camber and toe-in cannot be adjusted within specified range: Troubleshooting on rear axle Testing and Inspection.
Adjusting camber (vehicles from approx. 11/04):
Important!
Observe following sequence:
- Raise car (wheels free)
- Slacken screw (1).
- Adjust camber by turning eccentric disk (2) in direction of max. positive (wheel at bottom is at max. in relation to center of car)
- Tighten screw (1) slightly
- Lower vehicle and compress.
- Slacken screw (1) and adjust camber by turning eccentric disk (2) to setpoint value
- Tighten screw (1)
Installation:
Tightening torque 33 32 1AZ Control Arms And Struts (Rear).
Adjusting toe:
Loosen bolts (1) and (2) by approx. 1.5 turns at mounting bracket.
Place special tool 32 4 200 32 4 200 Setting Tool on bolt (2).
Turn special tool 32 4 200 32 4 200 Setting Tool and set toe-in to specified value.
Installation:
Tightening torque 33 32 5AZ Control Arms And Struts (Rear).
