Glove Compartment Lock: Service and Repair




51 16 341 - Removing and installing/replacing lock cylinder for glovebox





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove glovebox 51 16 360 Removing and Installing Right Glove Box





Note:
Insert ignition key in lock cylinder and turn handle to "Open" position.

Carefully snap out cap (1) in direction of arrow.





Important!
Ignition key must remain inserted in lock cylinder (1) otherwise lock cylinder will be destroyed during removal. The ignition key may be removed only if the lock cylinder is to be replaced.

Press lock cylinder (1) out with ignition key.

Installation:
Catches on handle (2) must not be damaged.
First fit cap, then snap in lock cylinder (1).
