Replacing Right Radial Seal on Differential (GS5-52BG)

23 11 211 - Replacing right radial seal on differential (GS5-52BG)





Special tools required:
- 23 0 360 23 0 360 Drift
- 23 0 490 23 0 490 Extractor





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove right axle shaft Removing and Installing/Replacing Right Drive Shaft





Release bolts and remove cover plate (1).

Drive a hole into radial shaft seal (2) using a center punch.

Important!
Do not use a drill as drillings may result in transmission malfunction.

Screw special tool 23 0 490 23 0 490 Extractor into center punch hole.

Drive out with impact weight (3).

Important!
Risk of damage:

Damage to the differential case will result in oil leaks!





Installation:
Drive seal with special tool 23 0 360 23 0 360 Drift into seal housing until outer sealing ring is flush with differential case.

Check differential oil level and check for leaks.
