Removing and Installing/Replacing Airbag Unit

32 34 020 - Removing and installing or replacing airbag unit





Warning!

Improper handling may trigger the airbag and thus cause serious injury.
Disconnect battery Instructions for Disconnecting and Connecting Battery and cover negative pole or terminal.





Release screws with Torx heads (1) on left and right.

Installation Note:
Tightening torque 32 34 1AZ 32 34 Airbag and steering wheel airbag
Do not pinch wires.
Screws remain on the steering wheel without being lost.





Remove airbag module (1) from steering wheel.
Release locking elements (2) of connectors and unplug connectors (3).
Remove airbag.

Important!
Lay airbag unit with impact pad facing upwards (luggage compartment) only.
