Housing Assembly HVAC: Service and Repair

64 11 200 - Removing and installing or replacing heater

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove airbag module on front passenger side. Please refer to: Vehicle/ Restraint Systems/ Air Bag/ Service and Repair Service and Repair.
- Remove instrument carrier. Please refer to: Vehicle/ Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicator/ Instrument Cluster/Carrier/ Service and Repair Service and Repair.
- Remove heater controls. Please refer to: Vehicle/ Heating and Air Conditioning/ Control Assembly, HVAC/ Service and Repair Service and Repair.
- Remove storage compartment in instrument panel trim (driver's side) Please refer to: Vehicle/ Body and Frame/ Dashboard/Instrument Panel/ Service and Repair Service and Repair
- Remove storage compartment in instrument panel trim (passenger side)
- Remove right glovebox. Please refer to: Vehicle/ Body and Frame/ Glove Compartment/ Service and Repair Service and Repair
- Remove instrument panel trim. Please refer to: Vehicle/ Body and Frame/ Dashboard/Instrument Panel/ Service and Repair Service and Repair.

Release screws (1), tightening torque 64 11 2AZ [1][2]Specifications.

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Disconnect plug (1) from holder (2) on cross-member.

Release screws (1), tightening torque 64 11 3AZ [1][2]Specifications.

Vehicles with automatic air conditioning only:
Disconnect plug connection (1) for solar sensor.

Important!
Two people are needed to remove the heater.

Remove heater from instrument panel trim.
