Repair instructions

Repair instruction regarding the roof brace penetrating the material

Complaint

The front roof brace protrudes from the cover fabric. See Fig. 1.

Cause

Cover fabric for front roof brace (additional brace).

Repair instruction

1. Open the folding sun roof approx. 100 mm. See Fig. 2.
2. Check whether the plastic caps are fitted on the roof braces. See Fig. 3.
3. If these caps are not fitted, carefully open the end of the pocket on one side. Pull out the roof brace and fit the plastic caps on both sides.
4. Use careful rotary motion to reinsert the roof brace in the pocket.
5. Secure the cover fabric at the end of the pocket with adhesive tape. See Fig. 4.
6. Apply adhesive in the area of the pocket on the pocket and the cover fabric. See Fig. 5.
7. Pull off the adhesive tape before the adhesive hardens.
8. Allow the adhesive to harden for approx. 10 minutes.
9. Close the convertible top completely.
10. By hand, press the pocket onto the cover fabric and make sure that it is completely sealed at the sides.

Note

If the material (pocket) has visible damage, the cover fabric must be replaced; see repair instruction RA5434120
