Repair instructions for cable guide to the auxiliary brake light
Complaint
The customer complains about white impressions on the convertible cover. The impressions are located exclusively in the area of the left-hand main bearing.
Cause
Possible cause is incorrect cable routing to the auxiliary brake light. The cable can be jammed on lowering the convertible top and cause impressions.
Repair instruction
Check the cable routing to the auxiliary brake light and adjust if necessary. See Fig. 1.
Note
Impressions in this area can be removed using a dry and clean hand brush.

The cable must be guided through the V-shaped cutout of the tensioning bracket holder.
Repair instructions regarding faulty folding of the convertible cover
Complaint
The customer complains about faulty folding of the convertible cover. The incorrect folding can lead to chafing on the convertible cover.
Cause
Due to the nature of the unit, incorrect folding of the convertible cover can occur on individual vehicles. See Fig. 1.
Repair instruction
On the vehicles concerned, retrofit the Folding lever . See Fig. 2.
Billing
Handling and billing must take account of the valid warranty regulations.
Temporary defect code: 54 34 92 85 00
This defect code is not in the official defect code catalogue, but is set up in the system.
This enables warranty billing.
Within the framework of a workshop stay

Flat rate unit: 7 FRU
In the case of an order without additional repair work:
job number: 00 56 779
Flat rate unit: 5 FRU
Warranty type 1
Warranty level: 1 (within vehicle warranty)
Warranty level: 2 (outside vehicle warranty).
Only one of the above job numbers may be used for settlement.
Settlement is limited to 36 months / 100,000 km and up to June 2008.
