Repair instructions regarding loose linkage at the hydraulic cylinder

Complaint
The convertible top gets stuck on the left-hand side on opening shortly before completion and is pulled into a slant. The right-hand side goes further downwards.

Cause
Mounts of the hydraulic cylinders loose.

Repair instruction
Remove both rear luggage compartment trim panels and check the mounts of the hydraulic cylinders. Here, pay particular attention to the correct seating of the locking clips.

Replace any missing locking clips with a clip from the clutch pedal E46 that is constructed in the same way. See Fig. 1. The used clips must not be reused. Where possible, they should be found and removed from the convertible top compartment to prevent rattling noises later.
