Repair instructions regarding grating noise on the 4th convertible top bow strut

Complaint
The customer complains about grating noises from the area of the 4th convertible top bow strut while the vehicle is being driven.

Cause
In rare cases, grating noises can occur at the 4th convertible top bow strut. See Fig. 1.
These are caused by relative motion between the cover fabric and 4th convertible top bow strut.

Repair instruction
Treat the surface of the 4th convertible top bow strut with a teflon spray.
Spray teflon spray on a suitable cloth and treat the 4th convertible top bow strut. See Fig. 2.

Important!
It is not permitted to use a Carbaflow coating at this position!

(A) Open the convertible top up to the position shown.
(B) Apply anti-friction agent to a cloth and treat the area shown in Fig. 1 (above the rear window).
