Removing and Installing/Replacing Stowage Lock (09/2005)




54 34 192 - Removing and installing/replacing stowage lock (09/05)





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove complete EH convertible top 54 34 101 Removing and Installing Complete EH Convertible Top
- Secure convertible top on special tool (convertible top mounting) 54 34 ... Notes on convertible top (special tool - convertible top holders)





Installation:
- Microencapsulated screws (Loctite) must be replaced and may not be reused
- Screw connection must be completed within 20 mins. (start of curing)
- Microencapsulated screws must not be retightened
- Thread of nut must be cleaned beforehand in event of repeated use





Unclip wiring harness (1) from body.
Unlock and detach plug connection (2).
Unclip plastic connector (3) from rotary actuator and Bowden cable.





Release screw (1).
Remove camouflage (2) for main bearing.





Measure gap A between stowage lock (1) and main bearing (2).
Note down gap A.





Release screw (1).
Remove stowage lock (2).

Installation:
Adjust stowage lock (2) to gap A and screw down.
