SUBJECT
Retrofit MFL Steering Wheel

MODEL
R56 (Cooper, Cooper S)

SITUATION
Due to an ordering error, some vehicles that were ordered with the multi-function (MFL) steering wheel (option code 255) were incorrectly built with a sport wheel without MFL

CORRECTION
On a customer complaint basis, the correct MFL steering wheel should be installed on the vehicle. A list of affected chassis numbers is attached.

PROCEDURE

1. Remove the existing steering wheel per repair instruction RA 3233000.

2. Install the appropriate MFL steering wheel.

3. [NEW] Perform retrofit programming and coding by selecting the retrofit "MFL".

Refer to S.I. M09 01 07: "Programming and Coding with Progman" for further details.

4. Verify proper function of the MFL buttons.
