SUBJECT
R55, R56 with Manual Transmission - No-Crank, No-Start Complaint

MODEL
R55, R56 with Getrag 6-speed manual transmission up to 02/25/2008 production

SITUATION
The customer may complain of an intermittent no-crank, no-start situation.

CAUSE
The clutch switch module has not been secured in the correct position on the clutch master cylinder.

Erroneous clutch switch input prevents the Car Access System (CAS) module from releasing the starter activation signal.





SOLUTION
On a customer complaint basis only, reattach the clutch switch module to the clutch master cylinder and secure it with the cable strap, PN 61 13 1 367 599.
