SUBJECT
Wind Noise from Sunroof
MODEL
R56 (Cooper, Cooper S) equipped with a panoramic sunroof (SA 403)
SITUATION
Wind noise may be noticed coming from the front or rear panel of the sunroof while driving. The noise increases with speed.
CAUSE
Incorrect sunroof panel adjustment.
CORRECTION
[NEW] Adjust both sunroof panels and replace sunroof seals as necessary.
PROCEDURE
1. Adjust both sunroofpanels per repair instruction RA 54 13 002.
^ NOTE: The gap around each panel should be equal.
2. [NEW] If the noise persists, inspect the perimeter seals for any signs of damage, insufficient sealing to the body, or setting while the glass was poorly adjusted. Replace the seals as necessary.
