PERFORM THE PROCEDURE OUTLINED IN THIS SERVICE INFORMATION ON ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES THE NEXT TIME THEY ARE IN THE SHOP FOR MAINTENANCE OR REPAIRS.

SUBJECT
Service Action: Replace the Dashboard Storage / CD Changer Compartment Trim

MODEL
R56 (Cooper and Cooper S)

SITUATION
The decorative trim panel which acts as the cover for the dashboard storage compartment / CD changer compartment located above the glove box does not meet quality requirements and must be replaced.

AFFECTED VEHICLES
This Service Action involves certain R56 Cooper and Cooper S vehicles produced up to December 22, 2007.

In order to determine if a specific vehicle is affected by this Service Action it will be necessary to utilize the "Service Menu" of DCSnet (Dealer Communication System) or the Key Reader. Based on the response of the system, either proceed with the corrective action or take no further action.





The Chassis Number Ranges listed are only for informational purposes and are not to be considered as the only deciding factor.

Only 1 of the decorative trim strips listed above may be submitted for reimbursement.

LABEL INSTRUCTIONS

This Service Action has been assigned code number 29. After the vehicle has been checked, and corrected if necessary, obtain a label (MD 20-036) and:

a. emboss your MINI dealer warranty number in the middle of the label (1);

b. punch out code number 29 printed on the label and,





c. affix the label to the B pillar as shown.
