Replacing Shift Cable Assembly

25 11 300 - Replacing shift cable assembly





Special tools required:
- 23 4 010 23 4 010 Removal Tool





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Detach shift cable assembly at shift lever bracket Removing and Installing Shift Lever Bracket





W10 only:
Remove battery box Removing and Installing/Replacing Battery Container.
Release clips (1) for shift cable at housing.
Detach shift cable from ball joint (2).
Pull shift cable (3) out of housing (4).
Remove housing and cable from vehicle.





W11, W17 only:
Remove intake filter housing Service and Repair.
Use special tool 23 4 010 23 4 010 Removal Tool to detach shift cable assembly (1) at ball joint.
Detach shift cable at stop/bracket (2) and remove.
