Hydraulic Clutch Control Repair and Bleeding Procedures

MODEL
R50 Cooper with GS5-65BH manual transmission produced from start of production up to 7/2004

R52 Cooper S with GS6-85BG manual transmission produced from start of production

R53 Cooper S with GS6-85BG manual transmission produced from start of production

SITUATION
Anytime the hydraulic lines of clutch control system have been opened the system needs to be bleed using the bleeding procedure described Repair Instruction RA 21 00 006 Bleeding Clutch Hydraulics.

Failure to bleed the system properly using special tool 21 5 030 will result in failures of the hydraulic clutch control causing inability to select a drive gear.

WARRANTY
Cases in which the bleeding procedure has not been followed will result in non-payment of warranty claims.
